V Travels to Gressoney
What was your favorite part of this week? Traveling to Gressoney.
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week? Adjusting to a new rhythm in the new location.
Tell us about a "wow" moment you had this week. I try and help Carmen, the families cook and nanny, as much as I can. She has relentless on a lot more responsibilities since we arrived and I try to lighten her load.
Tell us about your week! This week my family traveled to Gressoney. It is a mountainous town near the French border. The family comes here to vacation and escape the summer heat in Milan. The mountains remind me a lot of Utah and the whole town has a wonderful atmosphere.
My Italian family is great and so kind. The places they take me to are beautiful and I greatly appreciate the opportunity I have been given to travel and to ao many places in Italy during my short time here. It is easy to write an entire entry of the wonderful places I have seen and done but not all days are glamorous, even the ones in Gressoney.
It is challenging traveling so much because my role with my family changes with each new location. It's is sometimes difficult to adjust and I am generally working with the family 12 hours plus everyday so the time to process is generally rare. I finally asked for a break to leave the house and took a long walk that turned into a hike to a waterfall. This walk didn't magically change what I was experiencing but it gave me the chance to think, energize and regroup. The hike was absolutely stunning and on my way back down from the waterfall I picked a bouquet of wildflowers for Carmen.
Too often struggles are hidden or downplayed but they can lead to extraordinary days. Mine was extraordinary terrible and wonderful. My birthday is next week and I will travel to Rome and Florence with my best friend! I am so excited to get a break from this beautiful place.
