Gelato to Keep Cool: S's Adventure Continues in Montemarcello

What was your favorite part of this week? When [A] picked up the word jellyfish immediately.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week? Not getting enough sleep.

Tell us about a "wow" moment you had this week. I helped out extra with [A], watching home when it was my time off to help out in a pinch.

Tell us about your week!

This week the weather has been unbelievably hot. In the area there were at least three fires due to heat and lack of rain, we could see the smoke from the beach. Luckily the water was cool enough to keep us going and of course a gelato or two. In southern Italy it's over 100° and there are fires there as well. Luckily Montemarcello is so windy it's like there's an air conditioner for the whole town.

[A] continues to improve in every way,

especially in his English. We have a good routine down and seem to have reached a normality for how things work. I look forward to the days and cool evenings. The only obstacle this week was the sheer amount of mosquitoes that want my blood despite the bug spray. Well, that and getting used to driving a manual instead of an automatic. I've also been attempting to cut back on the amount of gelato I have everyday and that of [A]'s -- one day we each had at least three. While it was delicious, it's not good for either of us to have so much everyday. Although he did learn how to ask for ice cream in English before anything else. My goal is to have him learn at least five new things in English each day.
