Now the Beauty is Coming: M's Enjoying Her Last Weeks in Italy
What was your favorite part of this week? The best part of my week was having dinner out in the garden with the entire family (aunts and cousins included). It was very casual but fun to be all together-and we laughed...a lot.
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week? I honestly don't think I had any big challenge this week. We had such an easy-going week. Does sleeping in extreme heat count? It's all I've got.
Tell us about a "wow" moment you had this week. Just cleaning the kitchen daily and tidying what I can.
Tell us about your week! This week flew by. I don't even think a week has actually passed (but obviously it has). We are all so settled and comfortable around each other now that time has just been going by faster-and-faster. My host mom told me the other day that "now the beauty is coming" because we have all adjusted to one another. It's an amazing feeling to really be a part of the family-I'm already being asked when I will be returning! But on the other hand-it's really difficult to know what in a few short weeks, I will be leaving. It really does take a long time to feel 100% comfortable and get into a seamless routine, and once you do-you don't want to go (yet the date is right around the corner.) We had a large family dinner kid-week (as previously mentioned) and it was so nice to have everyone together like that and compare how much has changed since the night I arrived. What a crazy few months.
This weekend I went down to Cinque Terre. Maddy joined me for one day, and we seriously loved it. It is take-your-breath-away beautiful. There isn't a lot to run off and see (like a big city) so it was nice to just be somewhere that all I was "supposed to do" was relax, enjoy the scenery, and swim in the clearest waters I've ever seen. What a fun end to my week!
