Exploring Milan and Visiting Lake Como: Z's Experience in Milan
What were you grateful for this week? I'm grateful to have M to figure everything out with! The transportation can be pretty tricky here if you're not used to it so I'm glad we can get lost together. I'm also grateful that I have comfortable walking shoes because we walk A LOT.
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week? It's very hard to communicate with the boys, they doesn't know or understand much English so talking and playing with them can be very difficult.
Tell us about a "wow" moment you had this week. The boys haven't stared school yet so I have been spending a lot of extra time with them this week, I also watched the kids on Sunday night so M & A could go to dinner.
Tell us about your week! Made it through my first week! It has been a little harder then I thought it would be to get adjusted to the culture change here, I'm so grateful it's so easy to talk to friends and family from home! M and I met up almost everyday this week. We ate lots of gelato, found a cute outdoor market, did some shopping and just wondered around the beautiful streets of Milan together. It's awesome that we clicked so good, we always have the best time together even if we're just eating lunch and hanging out.
We took a train up to Lake Como for the weekend and stayed in an air b&b. Even though it rained the whole weekend we still had so much fun shopping and eating (our 2 favorite things to do hahah). The lake town was so beautiful, I loved all the colorful houses on the hills.
We also visited the Duomo in Como which was breathtaking on the inside, it was really cool to be able to go inside a 700 year old building.
The boys have so much energy! We are always playing busy playing legos, animals or going to the park. I think they are still getting used to having me around but it seems to be getting better each day. I feel so lucky to be able to be here in Italy and my goal for the next week is to embrace every moment.
