L’s Weekend Trip to Milan

What were you grateful for this week?  I'm so grateful my host mom is so accommodating and helpful. She drove me home from the train station despite my late arrival with extraordinary patience. She has made sure I've had everything I need so far and that I'm doing alright.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week? One day I was watching the five year old and trying to put him to sleep. He doesn't like to listen and was getting frustrated with the language barrier. Eventually we figured it out, but at the time it was very difficult to try and get him to obey.

Tell us about a "wow" moment you had this week.  Saturday nights I can go out and do something, but this week I kept it simple and went with my host family to the Lego Ninago movie. They were so excited to see it so it was something I just couldn't pass up.

Tell us about your week! The highlight of my week this week was going to Milan where I met up with z and m. We walked along the canals looking at the shops set up on the street which sold every kind of confectionary you could imagine. We also ate dinner by the Arco Della Pace which is a cool arch. It was a lovely city and I'm glad I got to see a little bit of it. The food this week is definitely worth mentioning: crepes, gelato, and a whole lot of pasta. I cannot begin to stress how thankful I am for my host mom and all the work she puts into preparing food. Also noteworthy in the food department is the meal we had at Burger King. It was a special treat for the boys and they keep talking about when we will go back. This week I spent most of my time in Imperia getting to now the place and my host family. It amazes me how much we are all learning from each other already! Slowly but surely I'm learning Italian and they're improving/learning English. They've shown me parts of Imperia and it's absolutely gorgeous. We even went to play at the beach which was possible as the weather here is so nice. Overall, this week has been incredible and I'm already so glad I'm here.
