👜🙏🏼Lost & Found: M’s Week in Paris

What were you grateful for this week?

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week? Losing my luggage coming to Paris (its been found everyone).

Tell us about a "wow" moment you had this week.

To be honest, I don’t think I did anything that deserved a wow moment. My family is the one that gets the wow moment this time.

Tell us about your week! Okay, so. I am currently in Paris with the fam bam, and this is my third time visiting this city in my life. I’ve never liked it, I always classified it as a dirty city, and just...too touristy maybe. But there’s something different about it this time. I’ve found the romance in it, and I see the city in such a beautiful light. I’ve really loved being here this time.

BUT. Something traumatizing happened. Now, I’ve been traveling for a really long time. And what people don’t realize about this, is how much stuff you CANNOT have when traveling this much. And what happens when you don’t have very much stuff, is that you grow a huge attachment to what little stuff you have. Also, losing your luggage is common. It’s happened to me before, and it usually happens when you have a few different connecting flights. You’re always able to track it down, and it’s fine. This time, it was a direct flight. And the airline literally said ‘we don’t know where it is’. ...........

Needless to say. I cried for a whole entire day. And my host family kind of went into panic mode, because it was obvious that this news broke me on a level they hadn’t seen before. I cannot even begin to explain the level of generosity that was shown to me these past few days. There was nothing that [my host mom] wasn’t willing to help me find and replace. She took me out and we had a very wonderful and intense day of shopping, and THEN. They showed up with my luggage. The realm of emotions that I went through in the past three days was almost too much for me, and I’m just glad that it’s over. I am so unbelievably thankful that I am part of a family that cares about me so much. AND I HAVE ALL OF MY BELONGINGS THAT MAKE ME WHO I AM.
