✌🏼M2’s First Week in Milan
What were you grateful for this week?
I am grateful for people with kind hearts. It takes a while to adjust to the new lifestyle and it really helps when the family you are staying with is willing to help you with anything.
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week? Adjusting to the new area and times. I am very close with my actual family and love to be home, so it was hard to have to leave them.
Tell us about a "wow" moment you had this week. Help cleaning. In this case my family has a maid but she was not able to be here tonight. Because I cleaned up dinner the parents got to play with the kids before bed, it takes a lot of time to clean up after everyone so I was glad I could give them that time to play with their children.
Tell us about your week! It’s very exciting to be in a new area, I've learned a couple fo the streets and paths to take the children to school and such. It is very scary to me as well because if I get lost or something then it is difficult to find my way back with everything in a different language but it is a fun challenge none the less. The food I have tried so far is incredible and the people here are so kind and welcoming. It is a beautiful area with lots to explore and lots to see. The picture is taken from one of the windows in the home, it is a good representation of how the city is laid out, all the apartments are very close together. Even though I have only been here one day the family has been so kind to me and helping me adjust. The children are very comfortable around me as well, and are very good at their english.
Except for [one son —] he is only 4 but he can still understand what I'm saying. It is very easy to find things to do with the kids, there are lots of games and they even just like speaking english with you as well. Even though I miss my home a lot, I am very excited for the things that are to come over the next three months.
