G’s First Days in Italy! 🎉

What were you grateful for this week? Finally making it to Italy.

What was the most challenging part of this week? Being unsure if I was leaving on the 1st or not.

Tell us about your week!  This week started out in Utah. I didn't know if I would be out here or not because of my visa. My visa arrived and it finally felt real. All of the visa issues helped me learn that sometimes things are not in your control and everything happens for a reason. In the end, I am so happy that my flight got delayed 3 weeks because I got to spend more time with loved ones. Having that extra time made me realize how much I appreciate Utah and am going to miss it.

I am so happy to be with my host family now. They are amazing and I'm so excited to get to know them better. The boys and I played with legos when they were finished school. [My host family’s older son] has opened up to me very quickly and I hope [the younger one] will do the same soon.

My first Italian class was this morning. It was very intimidating, but I'm stoked to learn something new that will benefit me. Milan is so beautiful, I am still in awe that I live here! When I was walking to class this morning I had the biggest smile on my face because my life feels like a dream. I’m excited to get more comfortable in Milan and find fun places to hang out. We are going to the mountain house this weekend and I am thrilled to snowboard in a new place.
