🕯Beach & Power Outage: S’s Week in Brisbane

What were you grateful for this week? Candles.

What was the most challenging part of this week?

Dealing with a power outage by myself.

Tell us about a "wow" moment you had this week. M I watched my host family’s daughter overnight for a few days so her parents could work.

Tell us about your week!  This week has been kind of crazy and I haven’t had the chance to do a lot of exploring but that’s ok. First off, I had been watching my host family’s daughter overnight for a few days and one night after she had gone to sleep there was a car accident near our house that caused the power to go out and the house shook a little bit. The dogs were losing their minds and I was pretty freaked out because I thought there was some kind of explosion and I didn’t know what to do. My phone only had 30% battery life as well as my laptop, so I called my host mom to see what to do and she told me where I could find some candles. Then I charged my phone from my laptop and the power took a little over an hour to come back on. So that was kind of crazy!

I did manage to finally get to the beach at the beginning of the week so that was lots of fun! Burleigh beach was beautiful and the little girl in my host family loved the sand, it was her first time at the beach! We were also able to celebrate C’s first birthday! It was so fun to watch her smash her cake!

My host mom found a house in Sydney so we should be moving in the next couple of weeks. I’m really excited to be in Sydney, there are lots of things on my bucket list to do there!
