📜M’s Week in Rome & Weekend in Budapest

What were you grateful for this week? Beautiful places to visit!

What was the most challenging part of this week? It was a great week, so probably the most challenging thing was that I needed more vegetables.

Tell us about a "wow" moment you had this week. I cooked dinner for my family on Friday. I made pico and chicken. I wanted to have them try some mexican food.

Tell us about your week!  I am starting to meet people in my area, which has been really really good. I have been able to get out of my comfort zone and talk to people I normally wouldn't and it has been really rewarding. I was also able to go to Budapest this weekend, which was seriously amazing. I had no idea what to expect and knew nothing about the place, but I had found a cheap flight so I took it.

That is something I love about being out here and with this program is that I am able to do things like this. I got into Budapest on Saturday afternoon and just wandered the streets and found beautiful building after beautiful building. It was a really good time. And I discovered that I can travel alone and that there a lot of perks to doing so. I also realized I only have two more weeks with my family here in Rome and that makes me super sad to have to say goodbye so soon. [My host mom] was out of town and I wanted to make dinner for them and show them some of American food (even though it was Mexican). It was really fun to be able to serve them and and it was exciting to share a little of the food my family and I eat back home. We have also been playing this game called Concept, which has been a fun way to speak english and connect more with the family.
