What were you grateful for this week?

My host mom was aware that sushi was one of my favorite foods so she took her daughter and me out for some.

What was the most challenging part of this week?

I ended up getting sick again! Luckily it only lasted a few days this time.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.

I had to spend extra time helping the little girl read because for some reason this week she decided that reading was the worst thing ever and so she would throw fits. It took a lot of patience.

Tell us about your week!

To start my week off I met up with a friend. We decided we were on a hunt to find a place that has cheap facials. For some reason that hunt proved to be harder than we thought because we went home with uncleansed faces. We ended our search about half way through our hang out and just started shopping so we still had a lot of fun. The rest of the week proved to be fairly normal. Had a lot of free time so I spent a lot of it cleaning, doing laundry and studying mandarin.

Things started to pick up during the weekend. After the little girl came home from her morning class my host mom asked me if I wanted to go get facials with her after lunch. I was so excited because I had spent hours searching for one on Monday. The spa we went to was super nice. They started it off by giving us a back and neck massage. They then cleaned our faces and used this machine to suck all the gunk out of our faces. When we were done all the people at the spa kept commenting on how white I was. I couldn’t figure out why until I got home and looked in the mirror…my face was so much paler! It was insane.

That night my host mom took her daughter and I out for sushi which is my favorite food. It was so amazingly delicious. I also tried sushi without the rice for the first time. The next day we went to the science museum. There were a bunch of kids running around playing with all of these science experiments. It was a lot of fun. After we went out for sushi again! Yay! It was seriously the fanciest sushi I’ve ever had. And to top it off the restaurant gave us free creme brûlée, which just so happens to be my favorite dessert. It was such a good weekend.
