What was your favorite part of this week?Traveling around the Vatican City with my friend Kate.
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?Figuring out how to get around the city without just using my own two feet. Public transport is very confusing!
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. Teresa was gone a few days this week so I worked a little more than I did the first week. I made sure the kids got where they needed to be and that they were fed. I also always cleaned up after feeding them.
Tell us about your week!My second week of Rome was so fun. I went out with friends, helped the kids roller skate, explored the city, and traveled to Calabria with the family. I have really become closer with the kids and Teresa and Federico. They really make me feel at home and that they are my family away from home. I also had to say goodbye to Rhea, who helps around the house, and her little baby girl and that was hard. I can’t image what its going to be saying goodbye to my “family” after two months of being with them.
I brought a few games that the kids could play that would help them with their English and they absolutely love them. Every time we have time to play they always ask to play the games. Their favorite is for sure “Spot It”. It’s a great game for people of all ages and there are about 5/6 different ways to play with the cards.
I have really made some close friends that I know I will keep for a long time and hopefully they will come visit me some other time or I can come visit them.
I am also very proud of myself because on Monday I learned how to use the Tram and the entire time I thought I was not on the right one so I was a little freaked out but then I made it to where I was going I was so proud. I have figured out that I am conquering a lot of my fears here on this trip. I cannot wait to see what new and exciting things Calabria will bring me.
