Tell us about your week! This week has been a little harder than I expected it to be. People say culture shock is a real thing and I never believed until them now. My host mom is so nice and so is the live in house keeper. The dogs are adorable that they have are my dream dogs, they have a golden retriever and a Pomeranian.
[N, her son] has been very shy and taking awhile to warm up. Each day it gets a little better but so far he’s still pretty shy. We’ve kicked a soccer ball around to each other in the back yard and colored together, we’ve also had a squirt gun fight. Italy is very beautiful and I love driving into the city by car and train. Seeing all of the scenery in Rome is my favorite part so far also exploring the streets of Rome and the amazing history of the city with the friend I came with. Seeing all of these old buildings is absolutely amazing.
The city is very hot this time of year so when you go try to come during the night to explore some of the city it’s absolutely amazing and feels perfect for walking around. Just be sure to bring walking shoes, because it was a mistake not to bring mine. My friend and I had blisters from walking in sandals, but it was well worth it to see the city.
