What was your favorite part of this week?

Going to the rock by the seaside.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?Trying to help the kids when they fight. It is hard when there is a communication barrier

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.

I made G (the two year old) really laugh.

Tell us about your week! This week flew by! And I think it is because I am really getting the hang of things now. I know the families routine and I am feeling more and more comfortable around them as time goes on. The kids are a bit of a handful but they are sweet for the most part. We play a LOT of games with each other and we’ve had some good laughs.

I can tell that Matteo’s English is already getting better since I first came and that makes me really happy! I don’t think I realized until now how much it helps to have a fluent English speaker talking to the kids. And who knows, maybe in the future I’ll have an au pair from a foreign country to teach my kids a different language!

It is best to teach people different languages when they are young and I am amazed at how smart these kids are for knowing two languages! I have studied Spanish for two years and I still have barely scratched the surface. It takes a lot of work and the two boys (M and G) impress me every day!

This has been an amazing experience and I can’t believe I only have one week left with the family! They are all so incredibly sweet and generous and I am so grateful for their hospitality!
