C’s Time in Italy Continues

What were you grateful for this week?My last days with my neighboring au pair.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week? Not being able to spend much time with M2.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.I worked a while longer because the son didn’t have school, also stayed with him for a couple hours on my day off.

Tell us about your week! I had a good week with the kids! Spent more time with the son this week and we did a couple experiments with household items, made play dough, and just had a good couple laughs.

The grandmother wanted to show me some history and took me to an old Romanesque baptistery! I’ve never actually seen one and it was an amazing experience. A not so amazing time is dealing with the alarm system…the alarm and I do not get along. I can’t tell you how many times I have set it off, for some reason I can just not figure it out! Thankful for how patient my host mother has been with me on this. I’m sure it is most frustrating.

It was my last full week with my au pair friend (Aynsley), we rode around the tiny town per usual and went to our favorite cafes. This morning I had to say goodbye to her, our time was cut short because the son didn’t have school again today so I had to work early. I am sad to see her go but it is time for her to move on. I’m so happy, however, to have met her and gotten the time we did together especially because I would have been so lonely here without her.

This weekend I went into Milano for a short time. M2 and I found a sweet restaurant near her home that has amazing food for an affordable price! And the waiter gave us free dessert and wine 🙂 so who wouldn’t enjoy that.
