What were you grateful for this week?I was grateful for my Italian teacher that put me in a more advanced class because she felt it would be best for me.
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week? The most difficult part of this week was the fact that my host brother was sick and stayed home for 2 days in a row from school.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.I don’t know if I had a “wow” moment this week… It was pretty normal as far as my Italian family duties.
Tell us about your week! I had a pretty good week! This week my Italian teacher took me aside and told me that she thinks I should be moved into a more advanced class due to the fact that I could be learning a lot more quickly in it. I think it was a great idea. They switched me into the class on Friday, which was interesting, but today was my second day in the new class and I definitely feel like it was a good idea for me. My new classmates are very nice and seem to enjoy learning the language which is fun. I am being challenged more which helps me learn more Italian.
This weekend I went out with my American friend and we went to a little Kebap place to get some food before going to a bar. At this Kebap place we ordered calzones and they were enormous. It was funny to eat them with the plastic-ware that they provided because the plastic-ware melted and broke off at the tips when we tried using them.
After we ate, we went to the bar and met up with some of our Italian friends. We had some drinks and talked and laughed for a few hours. I felt like my American friend and I learn more Italian when we are with real Italians speaking about normal topics that we normally talk about with friends.
This week I also started teaching a woman here in Milan who is actually originally from Brazil. She is friends with my host mom and wanted to take English lessons from me as well. So far these lessons are also going well.
