What were you grateful for this week? Milan nightlife.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week? I had to help out a lot extra at home and I was just really tired in the mornings compared to normal.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. My host mom is back from her work trip but now she has a friend that is sick. I’m trying to make myself available to the family so she can be with her friend and go through the medical process with her.

Tell us about your week! This week was great!! I went out every night from Sunday to Sunday. Whether it was to dinner, hanging, or bars and clubs, every night was so much fun! I love love love the fact that I have made so many friends here. There is always somebody down to do something!

It’s really amazing but also really sad that we are all from different countries, just because I have no idea when I will see them again after I leave. The US is so much further away than where they all are. But it means that I have connections all around the world!

This weekend I went to Rome with a big group of friends from Milan. I have been on trips with most of them before, but some were new because they haven’t been in Milan for as long. Rome was absolutely beautiful! There was so much beauty in the architecture and history of the buildings all over the city. It still blows my mind that I have learned about these ancient cultures and historic sites throughout school and now I am actually standing where it all took place. We visited the colosseum, palatine hill, the forums, Trevi fountain, and Vatican City. The Pope was at the Vatican and so we watched him give a short sermon in Italian; talk about a unique experience!!

We ended the trip with a big dinner with our group plus a few other people we met in our hostel. I love staying in hostels because I have met so many other people from around the world who are traveling as well. They are all so nice and it is fun getting to know them.
