What were you grateful for this week?This week I was grateful for public transportation. I rode the bus into the city center for my first time this week and it was so nice to be able to get around by bus rather than walking quite so much. 

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?My hardest part of my week has been blisters. I have a blister that just keeps getting bigger. 

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. This week was very fun. I spent a little extra time playing games with the kids. We also played ninja stars and charades after dinner one night! 

Tell us about your week! This week was an awesome week. My host family has been the absolute best! Each morning the kids peek their heads in my room to see if I’m awake and if I am they come in and talk to me and play with me. It’s so nice to see that they like me and want to see me first thing in the morning. We have played a lot of games this week. Many times I have lost to “The king of Uno”! Ha 

I told the kids that they should come to America and stay with my family and they said YES! 

Besides being with the family, other girls were visiting Rome this week so I met up with them on Thursday! I got to see the Colosseum. Which is just magical. There is something so cool about seeing it for the first time. I’ve grown up seeing it in pictures and learning about it in school. It is surreal to actually be standing next to it. We saw some other sights in Rome as well but that was my favorite thing. 

This weekend another girl [from Rome Abroad] and I went to Cinque Terre. It was beautiful. It was nice to go and see all five villiages and be next to the beautiful blue water. Such and amazing place. We saw a lot but also had time to relax on the beach and swim in the sea. My host mom had told me that region was famous for their pesto and that I had I try it. She wasn’t wrong! That was the best pesto I’ve ever had. I’m still dreaming about it. This week has flown by and everything feels like a dream that I never want to wake up from.
