What were you grateful for this week?WiFi! I don’t have phone service here in Europe so the Wifi has been a blessing for me!

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week? The bus/metro/tram drivers in Torino had a strike on Saturday. We went out of the city center to grab some lunch and as we were trying to go back none of the public transportations were operating. Luckily we were able to get a taxi and public transit began working again later that evening.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.On Monday [my host family’s daughter] was sick and had to stay home from school. I spent most of my Monday with [her] and helping [my host mom] take care of her.

Tell us about your week! On Tuesday, I was able to meet up with Tegan in Torino. We walked around Torino and grabbed some pizza and gelato. On Thursday I got a tattoo of a globe on my arm. It was great because it was within my budget and it looks so so so good. I am definitely happy that I decided to get a tattoo. It’s like the ultimate souvenir because I can never get rid of it!

For this weekend I met up with M and T. On Saturday, we went to the Egyptian Museum which was really cool. It was really big and had a lot of great artifacts. After the museum we got lunch and then got stuck finding out a way to go back into the city. Once we got back into the city the lights were on and there was a live show going on. We stopped to watch the show and danced around a little bit which was really fun. We got dinner at this cute little restaurant and called it a day.

On Sunday we went to visit Alba. Alba is known for its truffles so we went to visit the truffle festival. I have never had a truffle in my life and they are definitely tasty. We ate a lot of free samples that day.

We got some delicious Piedmonte lunch and had some time to kill. We stumbled across a Surrealism Art museum which was pretty interesting.

It’s crazy to think that my time in Italy is half way over! I still have a little over a month here and I am most excited for spending the holidays here in Europe.
