What were you grateful for this week?My host family as well at Tegan’s host family!

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week? There was a train worker’s strike in the Tuscany Region of Italy. It kind of messed up our trip to Pisa, but luckily we were able to find a way around it.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.On Thanksgiving I made my family a mini-Thanksgiving dinner. My host family loved the food and I didn’t miss Thanksgiving this year!

Tell us about your week!

This week went by very quick! I was talking to my host family and we are all surprised by how the time is going by so quickly! On Wednesday [my host parents] went out to have dinner with some friends. So [my host family’s daughter] and I were able to spend time together all night. On Thursday I surprised my host family with Thanksgiving. It was great because I love Thanksgiving food and being able to share it with my host family was a lot of fun!

On Saturday morning I met up with T and we started our trip out to Cinque Terre. Cinque Terre is a must and I suggest everyone visit at least once in their life. Since it was November there were not ANY tourist, which was great. It made it easier to take pictures of each of the towns. However, a lot of the shops and restaurants were closed, but it didn’t stop us from walking around and sight seeing!

On Sunday we decided to take a random trip to Pisa. I figured that since we were out here, T should visit Pisa. Our train tickets from Cinque Terre to Pisa were inexpensive so we thought why not! We got stuck in Pisa for about an hour extra because of a worker’s strike but we were still able to find a way around it. Because of the strike we had to take a train to La Spezia and wait another hour. But it wasn’t bad because we were able to walk around La Spezia as well!Tegan and I were able to fit in all of those towns and cities into a two-day weekend!
