What were you grateful for this week? I’m grateful for Italians & their amazing cooking skills. I have to say this whole time I’ve been here my host family really doesn’t eat much “italian” food for dinner & stuff. This past week though did we have pasta…HOMEMADE PASTAS!! So yummy & I was able to learn a little so hopefully I can go home & teach my fam! What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week? This weekend was [my host family’s daughter’s] week here, because I wasn’t leaving until Saturday for my weekend trip I was able to spend some time with her on Friday night. Nicole loves to play games, But CANNOT lose. This makes playing difficult sometimes. We were playing a game of tag & I was tagging her like she wanted but every round she wanted new rules to make it “easier” for her to win….she kept throwing little fits & her mom was in the room with us…it eventually led to her throwing a tantrum and shouting to her mom in Italian about me & I’m pretty sure saying not very nice things. I hate to feel like I did anything wrong or even made her cry. But it’s also really hard to play when she acts like this. I don’t really know what to do & luckily my host mom is very good at helping handle it.Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. Because we ate a lot of family dinners this week with the whole crew, dinner had a lot more dishes. I tried to do my part & after meals stay in the kitchen and help who ever was cleaning up.Tell us about your week! This week was pretty much the same around the house. Spent most of my time in with the twins. I’m getting so sad to leave them because they seriously are the cutest!! I just love how much they’ve grown since I got here and every day they do more talking/repeating and it’s so cute because their English has this little tiny Italian accent behind it. Their little voices are just so sweet and innocent. I was FaceTiming my mom one of the nights and one the babies was snuggled up to me just watching me FaceTime my mom. Here and there he would say little words to her. After we hung up my mom text me & said “Are you sure you can’t bring the home with you?” I think the same thing…I WISH I COULD!! I’m going to miss the whole family really. We ate lots of homemade pastas with the whole family, grandparents, aunt, cousin, and everyone at the house. It was so fun and lively but I mean that’s how the house is most the time!
On Saturday, K & I headed to London for our last out of Italy trip! It was short & sweet! We really accomplished a lot in the short time being. We saw the new Fantastic Beasts movie Saturday night, I’ve never seen K so happy!
Sunday was packed but one of my favorite days! We saw Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, London Eye, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul’s Cathedral, shopped, ate lots of food, Chinatown. It was all decorated for Christmas through out the city, on Sunday night we found a place that had an outdoor skating rink & Christmas tree. There was music, lights and lots of people. It was so much fun and the best way to spend our last trip. Not to mention we loved being able to understand everyone & fell in love with all the English accents!
Today we had to take an Uber at 3:30 A.M. to the airport that was an hour and 15 minutes from our Airbnb. You can say after walking almost 32,00 steps yesterday and 13 miles we are quite exhausted hahahaha but hey it was perfect no complaints!
