What were you grateful for this week?
The kindness of Italian locals.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?
Mondays….always. No matter where you live or what you do.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
I try to make an effort to do some of the household chores so my host mom has a little less to do.

Tell us about your week!
This week seemed really monotonous now that I’m so used to living in Gallarate. I’ve got a pretty consistent schedule and now that I’ve got about 2.5 weeks left, I’m trying to prepare my brain for reality back home. I made a friend my first week here at a local cafe, her name is Alma. She speaks very little English, but we both work really hard to communicate with one another and have become quite good friends. I hadn’t been in to see her in about a month so last week I paid her a visit for a cappuccino and some friendly conversation. I am always so grateful to spend some time with her and her kids because they’re so warm and welcoming.

My friends and I visited Prague, Czech Republic this weekend and had a blast! It’s so cool to be traveling to nearby countries and experiencing how different the cultures/food/customs are when you’re not far from the next border. We were told that Prague is the Paris of Eastern Europe and I do have to say, it is pretty amazing. Good treats, good beer and STARBUCKS hahah (my favorite place to indulge because we only have one in all of Italy). I can’t believe how quickly these 3 months are going by and I can’t wait for Christmas with my family back home!
