What were you grateful for this week?
I’m grateful for bridges & beautiful sunsets. Every country we travel to we witness the most beautiful sunsets. It feels my heart with so much gratitude knowing I get to experience these amazing places.
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?
The funny thing is I have been here for almost 3 months now, in fact I’m coming up on the end. My schedule is really chill but pretty much the same…however I STILL feel like sometimes I’m not doing enough & I feel guilty. I hate feeling that way because then I start to feel like I am in the way. It’s so silly because I’m now in a routine of things. Other than that this week was pretty great with the kids and family & I really can’t complain!!
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
This week I picked up the front room every night before we went to bed. The living room area has a section that has lots of baby toys that every night right before bed get scattered every where and well it becomes one big mess! Bedtime is always a little crazy because everyone is tired and well ready for bed. Usually it all gets left and someone will come down after the kids are in bed and clean it up, but I have been trying to just put things away as everyone is getting ready. It’s the littlest thing but for a family that treats me so well, I feel like it’s the least I can do for them ????
Tell us about your week!
My week has been amazing. I got to see a lot more of [my host family’s daughter] this week because she didn’t go to her father’s as much. We played school and of course she insisted on being the teacher. Now that she is in school that is teaching her English, she will speak it a little more. She has come such a way & it’s so cool to hear her try more. I’m around the twins quite a bit & speak English even with them because they are at a learning age & love to repeat. I taught [one of them how to say] pumpkin back at Halloween & now he can’t stop saying it “punkin punkin.” I taught him by pointing to a punkin on my Halloween socks so now he always looks at my socks and says “punkin” in a confused voice, it’s the cutest thing ever.
Since it’s been really rainy here I haven’t been going out as much during the week. Isa and I decided to make homemade Poke bowls. They were so delicious! So much better than the expensive ones in Milan that we sometimes take a train for the afternoon just to have!
For the weekend B, K, and I visited Prague! It was absolutely amazing, I hope to go back again!! We saw the Prague castle at night, St. Charles Bridge, Illusion Museum, John Lennon Wall, Clocks. We also went and saw a movie (we rather enjoy going to the theaters here), we ate a famous dessert called Chimney Cakes, which I HIGHLY recommend. We also got to meet up with one of B’s friends from home who is studying in Prague.
It’s always fun to meet new people! Every country just gets better & better. It’s so fun to be surrounded in all these different cultures, however I am getting sick of exchanging money left & right ????
