What were you grateful for this week?
Bandaids!
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?
All the blisters I got from wearing new shoes while traveling (which I don’t recommend 😉 )
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
This past week I spent a lot of time working on English with [my host family’s son]. I did some extra reasearch to find new games and activities that we could do together to help continue the progression of his English.

This past weekend my best friend and I traveled to Florence together. It was such a beautiful city filled with so much life! We ate lots of gelato and visited a ton of cafes. I love all the cafes around all the different cities we have visited. It’s crazy how many there are!
We went to the Duomo, and saw the actual statue of David which was incredible. I loved seeing all the history that I studied in school from the past years come to life. We also went to this insanely pretty look out spot that oversaw all of Florence. It was gorgeous!
Unfortunately I made the mistake of wearing new shoes around a heavy walking day so I got some pretty bad blisters as a result. But I learned my lesson! Definitely was extra grateful for bandaids this trip.
The people in Florence were super nice and welcoming. We stayed at a hotel close to the center of the city and the people who owned it were so nice and made sure we were comfortable and happy. We have learned that booking an Airbnb or hotel near the train station and places you want to visit is extremely important. We mainly walk everywhere, so staying at a location that is decently close to your destinations makes the trip much more enjoyable and fun! It was a great weekend.
