What was your favorite part of this week?A fun visit to Pisa.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.Tried to keep up on the dishes every time I saw them.
Tell us about your week! This week there was a lot of good things that happened. My host mom has been teaching me to cook, so I think I am getting better (hopefully). School is ending for the kids, so there have been a few opportunities for me to help the kids with their school projects in English (and also teaching PowerPoint). I also went to Matteo’s final soccer game, and during the game he was pushed to the ground by the opposite team and broke both his wrists, so he has to wear a cast on each arm!
Over the weekend I also had the chance to stop by Livorno to spend some time at the beach, and after to visit Pisa with my friend who is in Milan. Pisa was really great. It’s a beautiful, simple city that has many beautiful places. But it’s of course most famous for the leaning tower. There is also a very beautiful church and a few other buildings in the area where the tower is located. I am loving the architecture in Italy! I love how everything is built so big, their buildings take up so much square footage!
We also visited Lucca, which is a nearby Medieval city. It has an awesome wall that surrounds the city, that has a walkway around the entire city. There is also a few towers within the walls that we visited that are very beautiful.Overall it was a great week and I look forward to another one.
