Ciò che è stata la tua parte preferita di questa settimana? I momenti più belli della settimana sono quelli in cui vedo mio figlio Giovanni di 3 anni (il più grande dei due) iniziare a parlare in inglese. Credevo non fosse possibile e invece grazie a Cake, la ragazza che da un mese a questa parte vive insieme a noi, gli ho visto fare tantissimi progressi; sia a livello linguistico che a livello interpersonale. Vederli giocare insieme e poter dare ai miei figli, in generale e a Giovanni in modo particolare, la possibilità di giocare con una ragazza così allegra, simpatica e intelligente è il risultato più bello a tutti i miei sforzi. 

Qual è stata la parte più difficile di questa settimana?Nella nostra casa i nonni svolgono un ruolo importante nella vita dei bambini e a volte non è semplice perché non parlando inglese e fanno fatica a comunicare con Cake. Questo non rende le cose sempre facili. Per fortuna, però, tutti cercano di venirsi in contro e alla fine in un modo o nell’altro riescono intendersi!

Parlaci della tua settimana! È da ormai un mese che Cake è entrata a fare parte della nostra famiglia e sono molto felice di come i bambini si siano subito affezionati a lei. È stato tutto molto naturale fin dall’inizio, è come me se Cake fosse sempre stata con noi. È la prima esperienza con un’au pair e all’inizio ero un po’ dubbiosa. Devo dire che invece non avrei potuto prendere una decisione migliore. È sicuramente un’esperienza che consiglio a tutti! Devo dire di essere stata anche veramente molto fortunata, difficilmente avrei potuto ospirare una ragazza più brava. Facendo conoscere l’Italia a Cake ho anche riscoperto le bellezze di questo Paese! Spero che torni a casa con un bel ricordo di questi mesi passati insieme.

What was your favorite part of this week?The most beautiful moments of the week are those in which I see my son Giovanni of 3 years (the bigger of the two) start talking in English. I thought it was not possible and instead thanks to Cake, the girl who has been living with us for a month now, I’ve seen him make a lot of progress; Both at the linguistic level and at the interpersonal level. Seeing them play together and being able to give my children in general and to Giovanni in a particular way the opportunity to play with such a cheerful, sympathetic and intelligent girl is the most wonderful result of all my efforts.What was the most difficult part of this week?Grandparents in our home play an important role in the lives of children and sometimes it is not easy because they do not speak English and are reluctant to communicate with Cake. This does not make things easy. Fortunately, though, everyone is trying to come to terms with each other, and in the end, in one way or another they can understand it!Tell us about your week!It’s been a month since Cake has joined our family and I am very happy about how the children have just become attached to her. It was all very natural right from the start, for me, it’s like Cake had always been with us. It’s our first experience with an au pair and at the beginning I was a little dubious. I must say that I could not make a better decision. It is definitely an experience I would recommend to everyone! I have to say I was really very lucky too, I could hardly have hired a better girl. By helping Cake get to know Italy, I also rediscovered the beauties of this country! I hope she comes home with a good memory of these past months together.
