N’s Trip to Venice

What were you grateful for this week?My group of international friends!

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week? Missing the fam.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. My host parents are gone a lot at night and I have gotten a little better at being able to put the kids down for bed without too much crying or resistance.

Tell us about your week! Such a good week!! I love that I can hang with people or chill by myself but I am still in this amazing city. I met a lot of international people last week, along with people I have already met, and it was so fun! I just love how diverse everyone’s background is but yet how similar we all are. I have even planned a trip with two of the people I met!

I then went to Venice with a group of girls I have been friends with since my first week here. It was such a beautiful city. I was amazed that people don’t own cars there, they only own boats. We walked around a lot of the islands, while taking boats to get to them. The buildings being placed right on top of the water, the gondolas, the colorful boats; it was all just so picturesque.

The group of girls I went with are so fun and nice and we were having fun the entire time! I know I will continue to be friends with them for my time here in Milan and for many years after. I have so many plans and trips coming up it is crazy how many places I will be able to get to go because of this amazing experience. And my host family for allowing me to stay with them is such a blessing!
