What were you grateful for this week?Rome Abroad!
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?Leaving my host family behind and leaving Italy behind!
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.As I am leaving, the little kid is finally understanding English! So I would say the “wow” moment for this week is that I feel like I’m leaving with successfully doing what I came here to do!
Tell us about your week! What a week! Full of emotions! I left Italy this past Saturday and all I can say is that Italy has stolen my heart. I was able to work Monday-Wednesday which was nice because I got to save some extra cash. Wednesday night we had dinner at the grandparent’s house and the grandma made me homemade tiramisu! And that was just sssssoooo yummy! Good way to leave Venturina. I have absolutely loved Tuscany! It really is just as beautiful and magical as Hollywood makes it out to be!
I am sad leaving my family but I’m ready for my next au pair adventure in Spain. On Thursday I said goodbye to the family and went to Rome for my last weekend trip away!
I was able to go with V, E & A and that was really fun! We got to see everything that was on my list. Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps Vatican City & the Pantheon. In Vatican City we got to see Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica which was just absolutely stunning! I really enjoyed Rome and its history! And for my last night in Italy we went to a fun club to dance all night!
Not going to lie, as much as I enjoyed Rome, the endless amount of vendors were not that fun. But nonetheless, my time in Italy has come to a close and I can leave saying that my heart was left in Italy and the memories & friends will be with me forever! Ciao Italia!
