What were you grateful for this week? All of the people I have met and friends I have made while in Italy.
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?Deciding what to do for the weekend.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. This week the kids went to a birthday party for a friend, I went with to watch them!
Tell us about your week! This week I got to hang out with the family a lot more than usual! Friday me, my host mom, and the daughter went to the pool together. We swam and laid out in the sun and built sand castles. It was so funny to be able to spend the day with them. That night the whole family and I went out to the city center for dinner. It was nice to be all together.
This was my last full weekend before going home, and it was pretty chill. Me and another au pair in my city decided to just go to Milan for the weekend. We live about 30 minutes away by train so we have been a number of times before. We finally mastered the subway system this time! We walked around the duomo, did a little shopping and bought the typical tourists things for friends and family. We ended up meeting some of the other au pairs friends who happened to be in Milan the same weekend. We had dinner and ice cream together and walked around Milan at night.
The next day we did more shopping and decided to head back to our city a little early. We went back for a little break and met up later that night for gelato in the city center. We walked around and talked and ended up meeting some Italian kids and had good conversation. So crazy to think that my time here is soon coming to an end. I am going to miss Italy (and the gelato) so much!
