☀️Seeing the Sun in Rome: S’s Week

What were you grateful for this week? Vegan food.

What was the most challenging part of this week? Having the flu.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. This week I was very ill, my host family was so kind to me! One of the days it was just V (one the kids I watch) and me in the house. She asked if I wanted some tea, when I tried to help out she insisted on doing it herself. It was such a sweet moment!

Tell us about your week! This week was mostly spent quarantined in my room until the kids got home! I unexpectedly got the flu and had a lot of restless nights. So I was very thankful to have the morning to sleep a little. However, I did not leave the house and instead admired the little sliver of city from my window.

It wasn’t until the weekend that I was feeling better and decided to take on the line for Saint Peter’s Basilica. It was well worth the wait! Such beautiful sites! I will definitely be visiting again! Afterwards, I felt like my body desperately needed a clean healthy meal. Luckily the city is so diverse I had no problem finding a raw 100% plant based restaurant! It was such a nice treat!

After my meal I went to meet up with some of the other girls in the program visiting from other cities. They set out for next adventure, while M and I took a stroll through this beautiful park near her house. The lay out of the park was so beautiful and I love how you can find fountains, bust and other statues within the park.

The next day we all met up again and visited a few of the attractions. It was a nice leisurely day and I was so thrilled to be out and about again! That anything we did was done out of great excitement.

Being here a little past a month now has brought the realization of much I am loving Rome! There is always something to do and such beautiful sites around every corner! Here’s an actual photo of me seeing the sunlight for the first time after a week.
