Graduation & Cinque Terre: B’s Week

What were you grateful for this week?My host family.

What was the most challenging part of this week?surviving the summer heat!

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. I was able to attend my host brother’s graduation!

Tell us about your week! This week I was able to go to dinner with my host family and their family! The first week I arrived in Ravenna I had felt awkward and like a burden when going out with my host family and their friends because I didn’t speak Italian. This week at dinner with their friends I felt comfortable and had a lot of fun! We spent the night eating incredibly food, laughing, and overall just having a good time.

I was also able to attend my host brother’s graduation ceremony from kindergarten this week! It was fun attending the ceremony as they presented a book filled with everything they had done throughout the school year. While I wasn’t able to understand what they said, I was able to see what an amazing school year they had. After the ceremony they had a little party where I was able to meet and interact with some of the parents. I broke out of my comfort zone a little and introduced myself to some of the parents.

At the end of the week I was able to travel to Cinque Terre with a couple of the girls from the program. Cinque was filled with beautiful scenaries that looked straight out of a movie. The weather was great enough where we were able to hop into the water and relax.
