What were you grateful for this week? This week I was grateful for google translate.

What was the most challenging part of this week? This week was challenging because I was only with my younger girl while the older girl was at an overnight summer camp. I was challenged because usually the older sister speaks in English for her younger sister and we did not have her help the whole week. We made it work and still had lots of fun together despite not understanding each others languages.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.

I help clean up from dinner every night. Dinner is my favorite part of the day! Not only because it is delicious but it is where we are all most relaxed to talk and enjoy each others’ company.

Tell us about your week! This week was great! Coming back from London, I was exhausted, but my host family let me sleep in Monday and I did not have work until the afternoon. I only had [one of the girls] this week because [my host family’s other daughter] was at an overnight summer camp. I missed her so so much! 9 days is way too long without seeing her. [My host family’s daughter] does not speak too much english but we still had fun drawing and playing some games together.

I finally got to go to Vatican City this week. I saw mass given by the Pope himself. It was so surreal that I had to put my sunglasses on so no one could see tears. haha. They were happy tears do not worry. I did have some sad tears this week though. I said goodbye to A who quickly became one of my best friends here in Rome. That was a hard hit, but I am all right. There are so many other amazing girls here with me in Rome. J, A5, B, S and I took a weekend trip to Cinque Terre this weekend. It was absolutely stunning. The buildings were so colorful and the water was clear and blue. We spent a lot of time at the beach and eating great food.

On Sunday I even got to meet up with a friend from home who just so happened to be in Cinque Terre. I think of the weekend trips this one had the most beautiful and unique scenery so far.
