What were you grateful for this week? The previous nanny who left a great guide book for me.

What was the most challenging part of this week? The jet lag.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. I loaded the dishwasher and freshened up my host mom’s flowers.

Tell us about your week!So this week I landed and have been here for almost two whole days. I went through customs and exchanged my money. The money in Australia is colorful and really thin. My host mom picked me up from the airport and she took me to get some food for a late dinner. We went to KFC and it was crazy, the menu is different and they gave soda cans instead of a cup with my meal. I got my room set up a little and went to bed.

The previous nanny is here and she helped me get my SIM card and go get my bank card set up. We went to a local shopping mall and walked around before we picked up the kids. We also went to Kangaroo point and looked at the river and the city. They have city cats which are like water taxis and I think I’m going to plan another trip there to ride that with the kids. The weather here has been amazing. It’s technically winter but it’s been similar to fall weather in the states.

My host family is so fun and welcoming and I’m so excited for next week. My host mom has a birthday coming up and we are all very excited to celebrate with her. We are going to go up and visit her parents on the Gold Coast and I’m super excited to meet more of the family.
