What were you grateful for this week?
That Z is my best friend and she planned our whole trip to Rome.
[And] staring into the ceiling of the Sistine chapel. Literally took my breath away.
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?
Leaving Rome.
Tell us about your week!
This week was a great one! Z and I explored more of Milan, getting gelato and pasta everyday as usual. A day without gelato is a day wasted I like to say.
For the weekend we went to Rome and it was the most incredible experience! We started out day one at the Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain! The Pantheon was amazing because of all the history behind it and how it was built. The artist Rafael is buried there so that was super cool to see! The Trevi Fountain was a mad house full of tourists but Z and I each threw two coins in. One for love and one to return to Rome.
Day two we went to Vatican City and toured the Sistine chapel and St. Peters’s basicilica. I have never in my life seen art so beautiful. The Sistine chapel takes your breath away. It’s painted from the ceiling to the floor. We walked to the middle of the room and looked up to see one of the most famous paintings in history: The creation of Adam.
You can’t even put into words how incredible St. Peter’s basilica is. It’s the biggest church I have ever seen and you could seriously spend an entire day there. We finished our trip with the roman forum and the Colosseum and it was the best day of my life. I’ve never been surrounded with such amazing, historic places and I’m so grateful I was able to experience it!
