What were you grateful for this week?I found oreo’s and Dr Pepper at a market in

Rapallo!

What was the most challenging part of this week?I wore uncomfortable shoes and ended up walking almost 20 miles!

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. The little girl in my host family has been very exhausted lately so she stayed home from school Friday and I stayed with her all day so her mom could run errands and enjoy her day off work.

Tell us about your week! Io Venuto, io vidi, io amavi! This week I came, I saw and I loved all of it!! It was my first time really traveling by myself and I actually really enjoyed it. I spent a day in Torino, walking around the city center and going to the National Museum of Cinema at the Mole Antonelliana. The building was originally built as a Jewish temple to be a place for those traveling to the Holy Land to stop and seek refuge. I took the panoramic lift up the spire to see the view of all of Torino and the neighboring Alps, unfortunately it was so foggy the visibility was very limited. This weekend I took the train down to Rapallo, Genova with a friend. We walked from our airbnb, 6 miles to Portofino. The walk was right on the coast through many coves and little beaches. After over 2 hours we arrived in Portofino and it was breathtakingly beautiful! We got gelato and sat in the harbor watching the ferries come and go and people watching. We wanted to go up to the tip of the peninsula but we ran out of time before our ferry back to Rapallo left. The next day we took the train back up to Genova to walk around for the day. It was so humid and there were so many hills and stairs! It was such a beautiful city with so much history and beautiful royal residencies.
