What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?

Assimilation to the Family.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. (A “wow” moment is when you went the extra mile to do something nice for your host family.)

I showed the kids the Mission Impossible theme song, we ended up playing spies for the next hour.

Tell us about your week!

DRIVING

So, at home I always get told off by people like my Mom and Dad (and random old guys in grocery store check out lines) that driving too fast, or stopping too fast, or turning too fast is just a wreck waiting to happen. I will admit that I drive a little crazy… BUT after being in Italy two weeks I will say I am the safest driver compared to the insanity that is Italians driving. The autostrade is the free way basically. The freeway that has a speed limit of 150km

1 5 0 K M

guys that’s ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY KILOMETERS

I have to shut my eyes.

WIFI

Apparently my host family has been having “issues” with their internet for 7 years… Pray for me. Basically Italians haven’t gotten with the times of snapchat so their Internet isn’t as good as back home. Not to mention I live in the “nature” as my ma calls it so I may never have internet in my room. Let’s just say that after two weeks of not having any wifi I am feeling v blessed to have it in at least some areas of my home.

GELATO

I know that this is the only subject most of you care about, and I am here to confirm… Yes. I have had more Gelato than I care to admit, perhaps more than once in a day. But I can neither confirm nor deny any accusations at this moment. The one fact that boggles my mind is how there is LITERALLY 12 Gelato shops in one area of the city and they all still manage to stay open. I mean, I guess every Italian is like me and likes to go on a lot of Gelato dates bc there is no way that would work in America.
