What were you grateful for this week?
This week I was grateful to be able to get out and go on a weekend trip!

What was the most challenging part of this week?
The kids are still trying to get used to me (and me to them) and we are still working out how to best communicate with our language barrier which can make things hard for me.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
This week I spent some extra time hanging out with the kids and playing games!

Tell us about your week!
During the week this week I just spent more time exploring Rome. My favorite thing was probably the passion fruit gelato I tried. It was amazing! I’ll be going back for sure.

The best part of this week was definitely the weekend. Me and three other Rome Abroad girls went to Florence. One of them was my friend from home I have been waiting to meet up with and that was great. It was so nice to see a familiar face. We took a train to get to Florence, it was my first time on a train and I really enjoyed it. I loved seeing the countryside, it was so pretty! Florence itself was amazing! It’s picture perfect and the Italy that most imagine.

Saturday we saw the duomo and wow it was beautiful. We climbed the steps inside (as a result my legs turned to jello) and went to the top. The view from the top is honestly breath taking! I still can’t get over it! This was my favorite part of the whole weekend. We stayed at the top to watch the sunset, it was so pretty! Sunday we saw the Ponte Vecchio and it was so pretty as well. It was nice to walk along the river and explore some shops. We also walked up to Piazzale Michaelangelo which has a beautiful view of the city, I loved it! Florence has about a billion stores that sell leather and it’s awesome. Most of it is a great price. I ended up buying the cutest leather backpack! I also bought some super cool etchings from an artist on the street! Florence was amazing and I am so glad I was able to visit it!
