Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.

This past week I was able to do more with the kids. I’m glad I had some extra time with them to become better acquainted!

Tell us about your week!
This week I ventured away from the city and into the trees. I came upon two parks while trying to find a good view for the sunset. Each park was such a beautiful escape from the concrete jungles of Rome! Being amongst the birds and occasional rush of wind through the leaves was a nice change. I love the lively atmosphere of the city but I felt very grateful for subtle sounds. I let myself forget about my phone and just wander around without direction. I was very happy where it lead me. I loved the beautiful homes and hilly streets. This is the type of experience I had hoped for when traveling. Being able to teavel and get an experience of a local rather than tourist.

Aside from my adventures in Rome. Some of the other Au pairs and I took a weekend trip to Florence! It was absolutely beautiful! I was very glad to see a different side of Italy and happy to explore some of the historic sites! Seeing the David in person was a surreal experience. Amongst other things, we climbed (more like hiked) the duomo and watched the sun set over the city. Florence was such a warm (but very cold in temperature) welcome.
