What were you grateful for this week?
I’m glad things have been smoothing out and I’ve been able to adjust.
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?
Dealing with documents at the post office

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
My host family was very impressed that I helped with the dishes and didn’t sleep in. I don’t know what they expected me to be like, but I’m glad I’m doing some things right!
Tell us about your week!
This week I have been able to adjust a little more to living here in Italy. My host family has been very helpful and I’m feeling more comfortable here now.
My host family’s child was sick this week, which complicated things a little, but things should be back to normal starting tomorrow.
My Italian class has been going very well! I didn’t think we would be able to learn so quickly, but you can learn a lot in a very short time. Of course, I’m far from fluent, but I feel a lot more confident speaking to people in my broken Italian now!
We had quite a hassle trying to get some documents at the post office this week. The first office where we had an appointment was under construction or something and something broke there, so they were unable to access their computer and help us there. Another post office nearby was closed, and when we went to the next nearest open one we waited in line just for them to tell us they didn’t have what we needed. We have another appointment for tomorrow 🙂
I did have Italian pasta this week. Let me tell you, I don’t know what they make it out of in the U.S., because there you have to add the flavor to the pasta. But here the pasta actually tastes how it looks and has some solid flavor and texture.
The bread here is also extremely delicious. In Italy people usually eat bread plain because it’s just that delicious by itself.
I went running and got lost in the city this morning. I actually really enjoyed it, and I got to see a lot of beautiful parts of the city, but I’m really sore now, so I’ll have to make sure to plan a little better in the future.
