What were you grateful for this week?
I made a friend this week that went to Venice with me and has been helping get places and explore more of italy, I’m very grateful for him.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?
The most difficult part of this week was a Halloween party that I went with my host family to. I was very confused and uncomfortable the whole time because I could not understand anyone, but it ended up being a pretty good experience.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
This week I vacuumed and mopped the entire house for my host family! It took forever but it was worth it.

Tell us about your week!
The first half of this week was mostly just watching my host brother and sister and riding my bike around Lignano when I had the opportunity.

However, on Friday I had the opportunity to go up into the mountains in Pordenone! The drive there was beautiful, it made me feel like I was finally in italy. The view from the top of the mountain was AMAZING! I could see sooo far that I think I saw Venice, it was breathtaking.

On Saturday I had the opportunity to actually go to Venice! The second I stepped out of the train station, I swear I almost cried it was so beautiful! I ended up walking 17 miles throughout the day and by the end of the night I could barely move, but it was well worth it. Saint Mark’s square was flooding in the morning so we had to walk through it on raised platforms which was an interesting experience, but by about 3:00 in the afternoon all of the water disappeared!

Doges palace was absolutely incredible, as well as everything else there. Descriptions and pictures of Venice just don’t do it justice, you have to actually go there and see it for yourself to get just how magically gorgeous it is. It was truly one of the best days of my life!
