What were you grateful for this week?
Pretty much everything.

What was the most challenging part of this week?
Haha travel logistics.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
I came in early to help out when my host family’s son was sick.

Tell us about your week!
This was a pretty good week. On the first day of my Italian class this last week I showed up and everything was different. I sat down in my classroom and all the people who started filtering in were people I did not recognize.

The first thing that I did was check to make sure that I had not come to my class at the wrong time. I looked at the time display on my phone and it showed that I was right on time as usual.

Then I thought to myself that maybe we just had a lot of new people coming into the class. After all, it was the start of the month now, so it would make sense for new people to come in. But all the people who came in were new and I didn’t see any of my classmates.

Finally, I saw someone from my class who popped in for a second and then left. I figured at that point I had better go figure out what was going on. So I went to the front desk and I asked about it, and they told me to go to a whole different classroom.

I was worried all of the classes would be mixed up, but as it turns out I was with the same teacher and with the same classmates for the most part, which was a relief. Some of them have finished the class, but that was alright.

I have been getting better at disciplining my host family’s son and helping him to do his homework, clean up after himself, etc. This week I was very proud of him because when he was doing homework with his friend from school he helped to keep his friend focused and on task!

I also visited the rooftop of the Duomo and finished going through the museum. Over the weekend I went down to Rome with some friends. We had a busy first day, saw a lot of art and history, and then the second day was a perfect, relaxing end to the busy week.
