What were you grateful for this week?
I was grateful for my host family. They are amazing and I really love them so much. They treat my like their own daughter and I feel so loved and part of their family.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?
The most difficult part of this week was I am just exhausted and worn out.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
A wow moment would be today my host mom’s brother got married so we had the wedding today and I made sure do all I could to help them out with [my host family’s daughter] so they could enjoy the wedding.

Tell us about your week!
I cant believe it’s already June! This experience is flying by already and I want it to slow down! This weekend I decided to stay close to home again because my host mom’s brother was getting married on Monday so I had to be here for that so I couldn’t go anywhere too far.

So I took a small trip to Lecce to meet a friend. I stayed with her and her host family! They were the nicest family and really treated me like royalty. They fed me good food, we swam in their pool and they took us out to a very nice dinner by the beach. The next day, my friend and I went into the city of Lecce to check it out. It really is beautiful! Then the family rented a boat and we went out on the ocean for a few hours and went swimming! The sea in Lecce is AMAZING!! Sooo blue! I couldn’t believe it was actually real! One of my favorite things back home is boating so it was such a fun experience getting to do that here in Italy in the ocean!

Then I came home and today was the wedding! Everyone was telling me that southern Italy weddings are one of a kind. And it sure was!! Most spectacular wedding I’ve ever been too. Italians really know how to throw a party! They had a 5 course meal and in between each course they just dance and dance and dance! It’s amazing. And the food of course was amazing! The couple got married in the famous Catholic Church of Martina Franca and they had all their friends and family there. I am so happy I got to experience a real Italian wedding!
