What were you grateful for this week? For the great place that my host family lives! I’m right next to a beautiful nature reserve that overlooks the city, and it’s become my sanctuary.

What was the most challenging part of this week?On Friday some friends of my host kids came over, and it was quite the time trying to watch 6 little Italian kids who don’t speak much English.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. This week again I just tried to be helpful with cleaning up after the kids and making sure the house looked neat.

Tell us about your week! Wow this week went by so quickly again. The kids played with their friends a lot this week, so I got to meet more cute Italian kids! On Thursday I took a small day trip to Castel Gandolfo with another traveler, and it was definitely the highlight of my week. The place is stunning!! It’s no surprise the pope has a summer residence there. We toured his home, then spent some time sitting on the shores of the lake below. I think I’m in love with little lakeside towns, I just keep finding them more and more.

On Saturday I ventured to Naples with the other travelers in Rome, and we had to get some famous Margherita pizza of course! We found the restaurant where “Eat, Pray, Love” was filmed, and had some of the best pizza I have EVER had. Ever. Naples is super crowded and dirty, so we honestly couldn’t wait to leave and get home to Beautiful Roma. Then on Sunday I decided to take a solo trip over to Anguillara, a small town about 30 minutes from my house. Anguillara is another town on Lake Bracciano, and is only 4 EUROS to get to. And it’s such a cute town! I walked along the lake and explored for a few hours. Thank goodness for lakeside towns ????
