What were you grateful for this week?
my host dad being so kind to give me his old phone to use while I wait for my replacement in the mail!

What was the most challenging part of this week?
staying patient and focused while jumping through hoops such as loosing my phone and boarding the wrong train! I have to remind myself how lucky I am to be able to have this opportunity to live in italy.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
I helped my host family clean up for dinner! Usually my host dad won’t let me and tells me to not worry about it but I was persistent and cleaned the table and washed dishes.

Tell us about your week!
This past weekend I visited Genova and Cinque Terre. Genova was BEAUTIFUL. All the buildings were colored perfectly to match each other and were stacked perfectly to make a beautiful scenery. The city sits on a harbor busy with boats and cruise ships. J2 and I only spent a few hours in Genova but I definitely want to come back. I’m a big city girl and Genova was just that.

On Saturday morning we took a train to Monterosso and let me tell you those beaches are so perfect the look almost fake! The crystal blue water with tall mountains in the back, its almost too good to be true! J and I got dinner and a wonderful seafood restaurant and I had amazing seafood pasta. We then sat on the beach for a bit and took in the view. Monday I did some exploring myself and took a train to Castiglioncello and I think I found my favorite beach so far! With water as blue as the beach in Cinque Terre and cool rocks to sit on, I definitely felt like The Little Mermaid basking in the sun all afternoon. To end my day trip I walked around the city and found a cute clothing tent in the middle of the park that sold handmade, patterned clothes for pretty cheap! I scored a very cute wrap skirt and an orange floral dress.
