What were you grateful for this week?

I’m grateful that [my host family’s son] got a good score on his English assignment!

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?

The most difficult part of this week was dealing with the cultural differences in language barriers.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.

A while minute for this week was when [my host family’s son] and I made dinner for the family on Friday!

Tell us about your week!

This week, one of my favorite things was making dinner with [my host family’s son]! I had talked to [my host mom] and thought it might be a good way to incorporate English. So I picked up the ingredients, and on Friday night, [my host family’s son] and I made chicken fajitas. Which were delicious! I’m not sure they’ve ever had tortillas, and [the other son] especially loved them! I learned that next time we cook, we definitely need to make more 😉

I’m looking forward to cooking more with [my host family’s son] (he aspires to be a chef when he grows up) because I enjoy cooking, and it’s fun to help someone else.

As for K2 and I, we went to see our favorite singer by the Pantheon on Thursday. On Friday, we planned to get together as well, but the buses went on strike (for the first time since I’ve been here) so I stayed back in Spinaceto.

On Sunday, we were able to attend an LDS institute to watch General Conference which was awesome! The next morning, we had some of the best pastries I’ve ever had. I had a Nutella pastry, and K2 had a Lemon Ricotta. We’re not joking when we say it’s the best pastry we’ve ever tasted! Pro tip: eat Sicilian pastries when you’re in Rome.
