What were you grateful for this week?Grateful for my awesome host family and my new friend Tati! What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?
Most difficult part of this week I would say was planning my trip to Rome the night before leaving. Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
A wow moment I had was when I chased after the youngest daughter and brought her back inside because she’d been out in the yard running naked ????Tell us about your week!
This week has been fun, starting to get into the groove of things, taking the girls to school and playing with them after school! I don’t quite think the girls are used to me just yet and they are still a bit stubborn but hopefully they’ll get used to me soon!
It definitely hasn’t been the easiest thing coming to Italy not knowing the language or anybody here which is why my awesome host mom has been helping me find some friends nearby and the girl I met was super nice! She was even willing to drop me off at the train station at 7am!
This week I also met up with ACLE at the school that the eldest daughter attends. ACLE is an English summer camp for students in Italy, it was nice to meet some others that speak English and get a little sneak peak on their activities and skills they use to teach English!
After that I went to Rome with C, V, and, E! In Rome we met up with A and K it was great to meet so many girls from the program. ROME IS SERIOUSLY UNREAL! It was so beautiful I couldn’t believe I was actually finally there! I kind of wish I had done a little more research on all of the history. I was able to do all the touristy things here and even check out the smaller things like aventine hill. We went to this amazing viewpoint that overlooked Rome!
K, V, and I were also able to try the BEST gelato in Rome at Venchi and seriously was the best gelato I’ve had here!! The next day I headed to Trastevere to explore I had a fruit tart and checked out the fountain, it was great! I am now in a beach house in Massa, Tuscany for 2 weeks and I’m so excited!
