What were you grateful for this week? *Being able to travel.
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?Traveling alone.
Tell us about your week! P was away at a sports camp so I had the week to myself. I decided to spend my time off in Venice. I spent my time wandering around the city and checking out some cool churches. One church on Murano had mosaic floors that I just loved! I also spent one day at the beach in Lido. The water there is so still that it feels more like a giant salty swimming pool than an actual ocean. I enjoy taking P to the beach everyday but it was nice being able to just relax and not having to look after anyone.
One night, on my way into the city, I rode the tram with a local. She’s about my age and has family who actually lives in the city. She was super friendly and spoke some English. She told me about one of her favorite restaurants and it did not disappoint! While I eating dinner there, some of the other guests got into a big fight. I have no idea why they were fighting but it was pretty entertaining. I got dinner and a show!
After a few days I headed back to Rome and met up with a fellow nanny. It was nice walking around Trastevere and catching up with her. This coming Friday, the private beach we come to is throwing an American Party. Everyone dresses up “American” and we eat American foods. I cannot wait to see how everyone dresses. It’s going to be hilarious.
