What were you grateful for this week? All the people who helped me when I was lost.
What was the most challenging part of this week?Almost missing a flight.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. One evening my host parents were out and they usually prepare for breakfast the night before. Since they were gone I set the table and got the kitchen ready for the boys breakfast the next morning.
Tell us about your week! This week was my third week in Milan, not going to lie it was really hard. I was starting to miss my family and friends, and I felt very distanced from them with the time difference.
I hadn’t really met any friends in Milan yet until I had lunch with the other people in the Rome Abroad group. We ate at a place called Farini which has really good pizza for cheap and fresh squeezed orange juice. It was so nice to connect with people my age and who spoke english as their first language.
On the weekend me and two other girls booked flights for Barcelona SUPER last minute (the day before). Everywhere in Italy was going to be rainy so we left, hoping to find warmer weather. Spain was absolutely beautiful! We went to a huge market called Mercado de La Boqueria, it had the best tropical fruit, freshly made empanadas, and a variety of spices and meats. We saw all of the famous Gaudi architecture including park guell, a huge park with tile walls and railings. My favorite part was our gondola ride up to the Monjuic castle. The sun was just starting to set and the lift was closing but the lady at the front desk let us up. It was the most colorful sunset I have ever seen and the view of the city and ocean was unforgettable.
