What were you grateful for this week?New friends.

What was the most challenging part of this week? Learning [another] family’s routine.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. The host family I was helping for the week had a lot going on so I stayed a few extra days to help them out.

Tell us about your week! I went to Springfield (a town about 45 minutes away from the one I live in) last week to au pair for another family because their new au pair was not able to get there right when they needed her. It was interesting to go to a new family and see and learn their way of life and routine.

It was pretty cool because they have a spare car for their au pair to take the daughter to school and for extracaricular use for the aupair as well so I was able to learn to drive in Australia and go off and adventure on my own as well. Springfield is a bit more in the “country” side of Brisbane and my original family lives closer to the city so I was really hoping to see some Kangaroo’s while I was over there but unfortunately the only one I saw was a dead one on the side of the road. I am still hopeful that I will get a live kangaroo experience while I am here though haha! I picked up the new au pair from the airport and was able to show her around because her host family went out of town for the weekend.

We ended up meeting up with another aupair and going to the Gold Coast for 2 days! It was great to finally make some friends and hang out with girls my age! I’m excited for the future adventure with new friends!
