What were you grateful for this week?Meeting so many new people!
What was the most challenging part of this week?Keeping busy since my host kid was gone all week.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. Made dinner for my host mom although I didn’t need to.
Tell us about your week! In the beginning of the week I was nervous because this was the first week I didn’t have [my host family’s son]. I was nervous that I would get homesick, but I knew the only way I wouldn’t is if I went out and made myself busy. All week I found something little to do like go to South Bank, meet some friends, go swimming and go get a treat at the local bakery.
On the weekend, I went out with a few girls to some clubs and attended an au pair meet up which was so much fun. I met some girls from all over like Germany, Poland, France, and even America. I also got to experience Mount Tamborine which was way neat and SUPER HOT.
Something that I learned and has now stuck with me is that Brisbane, Australia is home. It feels like home more than it has since being here. I love going to the local bakery down the street and I love taking the bus since it’s so convenient. It’s so nice to just be able to walk down the road, hop on a bus and go to the mall, downtown or South Bank. It’s the little things that add up ❤️
Overall, this week was wonderful and I know it will get even better as my days go on here! I can’t wait for these weeks to come & to all the new people I’m about to meet.
